Performers + Music

Munyungo Jackson + His jungle jazz band

Munyungo calls his music "Jungle Jazz" because it's a mixture of African, Latin and Caribbean grooves complimented by his American jazz roots swingin' hard, with his worldly funky upbringing accenting each song. He is a Percussionist, Composer, Arranger, Producer, Author, and four time Grammy Winner with 30+ years of playing with many of the greats including: Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Kenny Loggins, Herbie Hancock, The Temptations, Four Tops, The Supremes, Bennie Maupin, Bill Summers, Marcus Miller, Chaka Kahn... and more! Munyungo is deeply committed to understanding, and keeping alive, the traditions surrounding the instruments he plays.
