Painting a mural at Fairfax High School

Arts Bridging the Gap is bringing students from Fairfax High School together with artist Armani Holbert to paint a mural they helped design on the walls of their school. We are inviting the local community to come and paint with us. Volunteers may join Friday or Saturday and help bring this mural to life. The mural is a direct expression of the students emotions and thoughts in this challenging moment. You needn't be a pro painter - all levels of skill welcome. Be sure to RSVP ahead of time so we can welcome you onto the campus. This project is supported in part by an arts grant from the City of West Hollywood.

The United Streets of America

Spreading messages of solidarity, unity, and hope for the future — through the arts! Join us for our first Street Art Festival - a Block Party in the heart of Hollywood!

In the summer of 2020, the businesses of Hollywood boarded up their store fronts to protect from looting and vandalism during the social unrest resulting from the collective awareness of the racial injustice infiltrating systems across our country.

Arts Bridging the Gap got together with their Hollywood partners, local artists and the youth of Hollywood and painted a collection of these boards at the intersection of Hollywood and Vine.

It so happened that the day they chose to paint was also the same day 50,000 people came to that exact intersection and took part in the first, and largest peaceful process during the social unrest.

In May 2022, these same businesses, community partners, local arts organizations — and more! — will come together to celebrate the progress of recent years and spark imperative conversations about the path forward. Together, we will connect and build a sense of hope for a brighter, more unified, future.

Join us to collectively declare: We will not forget this moment in history, nor will we allow its message to be forgotten by the generations to come. A catalyst for change, art has the power to heal our individual and collective selves, and together, we will build a more inclusive, optimistic future.

Black lives matter today, and every day.

The United Streets of America block party is inviting people back into the community; to prompt new and rekindle old connections, as well as spark much needed joy! Come experience many of the original board artworks, engage with the live painting artists, contribute to collaborative art pieces and enjoy delicious food from our local restaurant partners including: The Breakfast Club, Dudes' Brewing Company, Fabiolus Cucina, Gwen, St. Felix , and Wood+Vine!

Food tickets start at $5 — or indulge in a “Taste of Hollywood” ticket for $50, where you will receive a delicious dish from each of our restaurant partners! Advance ticket purchase available at this link

We strive to host inclusive and accessible experiences that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities and anyone differently-abled, to engage fully. If you would like to request anything specific in regards to an accommodation you might need or if you would like to inquire about accessibility at United Streets of America, please contact Ariella at ariella@artsbridgingthegap.org.

Giving Tuesday Celebration: Paint with us in Watts!

We LOVE our murals, and from time to time, they need a little tender loving care. Titled “Pretty Sweet,” one of our murals is ready for refresh — and what better way to celebrate all the ways we can give (on Giving Tuesday) than bringing back the joy and color to this corner of Watts?!

All ages, backgrounds, and ability levels welcome.

All you need is a smile. :)
